A loan of $8,000 helped to boost advertising/marketing to expand my business.

Erinn's story

I was raised in a small town in Michigan called Saginaw and raised by a mother who taught 32 years of high school and a father, who served as a juvenile probation officer for 32 years. My father also coached high school boys' basketball locally for over 25 years. Through those influences, I discovered at a very young age that I wanted to be an educator. I did just that, majoring in Elementary Education at the University of Kansas and having taught in the states of Missouri and Michigan. However, I had begun to notice the disparity in academic achievement in the populations that I served discovered that the traditional school day was not sufficient to meet the individual needs of the students. In 2004, I began tutoring students in the school where I taught. Because of my reputation as a classroom teacher, more parents were entrusting their children to me during after-school hours and during the summer months to provide educational support. After nearly 15 years in the traditional classroom, however, I felt that I could better serve students by offering the services on a full-time basis, and in 2013, Tailor Made Learning was birthed.

My ultimate goal is to expand my services to grow Tailor Made Learning into an education enterprise that meets the educational needs of all students as well as provide additional work opportunities for teachers and graduate students.

This loan is special because:
