A loan of $3,675 helped to buy 4 dairy cows to expand her herd and increase sales of organic milk.

Bazarkul's story

Bazarkul is 50 years old, married, and has a son and daughter. She has a secondary-level education. Since 1988, she has worked in animal husbandry and farming, which make up the primary source of income for her family. Because of Bazarkul's hard work and her husband's help with the household, today she has 2 cows, 30 sheep, and 1 horse, as well as a 2.4-hectare plot where she grows beans. Bazarkul has a contract for supplying organic milk to a local plant for further processing into dairy products. This allows Bazarkul to constantly invest in her agriculture business. Bazarkul learned that since her product is part of the value chain, she could secure a loan from Bai Tushum bank with a future supply contract, so she applied for a 250,000 KGS loan. She'll use it to buy 4 dairy cows to increase milk production and expand her herd. Payments for the milk will be transferred directly from the plant to Bazarkul's bank account, and her loan payments will be automatically deducted. The income that results from the loan will help Bazarkul to expand her herd in the future, increase her crop yield, and pay her son's college tuition.
