A loan of $1,500 helped to further expand her production with the aim of improving her family's economic situation.

Florencia's story

Florencia is a young and hardworking person, 33 years old, with a humble character. She has a live-in partner, and she was only able to study up to primary school because she had few economic resources. She has one dependent in her care, and she lives in a house of her own, which is of mediocre-quality construction but has basic electricity and water connections. Her home is located in the community of Moya Pampa, Totora, in the Province of Carrasco.

Florencia has seasonal income from the following products: potatoes, seasonal crops and wholegrain wheat. All of the products mentioned are cultivated on a land area of three hectares. The farm has an irrigation system, which is applied through flooding (in furrows) as well as a mechanical water spraying system. In this area, Florence finds herself facing the need to request a loan in order to further expand her production, with the aim of improving the economic situation of her family unit.
