Daisy's story

I grew up between the Bay area and Lagos, Nigeria. Growing up I experienced various forms of trauma that impacted by ability to life life to its fullest potential. However, I always remained resilient through the darkest times of my life. I have experienced harsh realities such as homelessness, racism, sexism and much more. I worked hard to obtain a degree in Biological Sciences as well as Social and Behavior studies meanwhile experiencing homelessness, health issues and working graveyard full-time to make ends meet for myself. These experiences have only inspired my passion and commitment to transform myself and my community.
Understanding the larger role mental health plays in our society, I founded Resilient Wellness. I honestly have faith in holistic health as a catalyst for social transformation and realize lack of understanding of cultural health practices is a driving force for unfortunate social patterns in my community.
Today, I am fully committed to seeing the vision of Resilient Wellness manifest and touch the lives of thousands. I am still heavily active in public health policy on a national, state and local level. In addition, I am active in the world of philanthropy, providing awareness of intergenerational trauma in order to shift funding patterns.
