A loan of $5,000 helped expand my business by adding new equipment and reducing raw material costs which will allow me to continue to create sustainable small batch bath and body products inspired by Northern California and its bountiful food culture.

Alana's story

I was born in a small town in Northern California, and grew up running through the woods with my sister and helping my parents with our summer garden. I moved to San Francisco over 10 years ago and fell completely in love with the city. I'm blown away by the creativity and natural beauty that I encounter every day, plus I'm not too far from the forests and beaches of my youth.

I dream of the day when I can expand my bath and body business to employ more people from the community and reach a broader national and international audience of soap lovers. It will take a lot of work and re-vamping my current systems but I am so excited for the business journey ahead!

When not mixing up products in my soap lab, you'll find me cooking (I'm currently on a massive baking kick), reading novels and business books, walking in my Mission neighborhood and sipping cocktails with my husband.
