Cheikh Ibra Fall Group's story
The Cheikh Ibra Fall solidarity group was created on 5th December 2007. It is made up of 13 women from the same neighborhood, who are neighbors and/or friends. Mrs. Khady M., who is on the extreme right of the photo and dressed in a large white "boubou" (African dress) sprinkled with black dots, is in charge of the group. She is 43 years old, married and mother to five children. She has also adopted a four-year old orphan. She sells fabrics and shoes. She gets her supplies in Gambia and Mauritania. She has been carrying out this business since 1996. With her new loan she is going to buy damask and "khartoum" fabrics, scarves and shoes. Her aim is to increase her savings and contribute to the costs of looking after her family.
