Yanina Veronica's story

Yanina Veronica, age 40, is in a common law relationship. She has two children, ages 16 and 14, who attend school. Her partner is a locksmith and industrial mechanic. They live in a rented house.

They live in Portoviejo, a city affected by the earthquake of April 16, 2016 and now by the Covid-19 pandemic. The city is rich in production of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruit for domestic consumption.

Yanina Veronica always helps her spouse with purchasing materials so that he can do the work in his shop, which is at their house. When he has a lot of work, she helps him. They make doors, window guards, field structures, among other items. In general, clients pay 50% to buy materials and the balance when the work is completed.

Social isolation at first left her without work due to fear of contagion and various restrictions that kept them from going out to work and to buy materials. Now she is following bio-security protocols.

This loan is to buy materials such as iron rails, solder, paint, sandpapers, locks, etc. Her dream is to have her own house and that her family will have good health.
