Florence's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her business by purchasing more chicken feed and other poultry equipment.

Florence's story

Florence is a 34-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and children in Luwingu district in Zambia. She is a poultry farmer.

With her first Kiva loan, she replenished her inventory which increased her sales and now her business is thriving. Florence is requesting a second loan to expand her business by purchasing more chicken feed and other poultry equipment to meet her customers' needs. She plans to use the profit she earns to pay for her children’s school fees, add to her capital and invest back in her community.

Florence will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Peer Educator, leading life skills sessions for students in local schools on topics such as rights and choices, choosing a career path, and active citizenship.
