Cherise's story

Being raised in the inner city of Baltimore, Maryland has certainly had it's challenges. I am the oldest of 5, being the only girl in the house. I helped my Mom to raise my brothers. I loved school and had the opportunity to attend private school in my middle school years. I was in the gifted and talented programs. When I started college, I wanted to become a CPA. My favorite subject was and still is Math. I struggled with Accounting in my first couple of years, so I instead graduated with my Business Management degree. My least favorite subject was English, so this won't drag on, as it is not my passion to write. I've owned my own small tax business since 2011. I love numbers and business and helping others to pursue their passions. I worked at Cover Girl for 20 years and then my position moved out of state, but I decided to go. I then decided to go back to school to get my Accounting degree and I am now 4 classes away from completion! This will help me become an even better business owner.
