A loan helped us to invest in e-commerce, digital ads, and training a shop manager.
After I graduated from the University of Arizona, I left my first full-time job at a communications agency in Tucson to freelance as a brand strategist. I loved working with small businesses to build their brands, articulate their purpose and communicate with their audiences. I was also itching for a way to meet new people and for the analog arts and hobbies I'd enjoyed all throughout my school career, but struggled to find the time or motivation to try new things on my own. These desires led a friend and I to put on an event bringing incredible women together for easy conversation and a fun DIY. We collaborated with a local artist, partnered with a local restaurant to host, and invited guests on Instagram. That first workshop in September of 2015 was magical, and the enthusiasm and support from our Tucson community motivated me to take Creative Kind from a fun side hustle to a growing business that helps local craftspeople hone their skills and potentially launch their own businesses. My business partner, Hilari, and I have poured our passion into this business and the community that surrounds it. Over the last year and half, we've worked tirelessly to hone in on our business model and we are incredibly motivated to grow Creative Kind with intention and a community focus.
