Cheryl's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped me to expand my product line by purchasing a Nutty Bavarian Machine.
Growing up in Philadelphia with my older sister and my father who was a single parent and an alcoholic was tough. Not knowing it in the second grade, I learned a lesson that has impacted my whole life. That lesson is that Life isn’t about you. Our neighbors were our saving grace who made sure our hair was taken care of and our various other needs were met. My second-grade teacher and his wife went out and purchased clothes and shoes for my sister and I. We always found ourselves being invited into many communities. I raised my children on the theory that Life isn’t about you, it’s about giving to others. If you do that, then all of the good things you are supposed to get in life will come to you. They have embraced this theory and we as a family work on that model daily. We understand that we are here to help others grow through our talents. As a previous business owner of two retail locations in a local mall, I was able to develop lasting relationships. After 13 years of being in business, the relationships I made after opening grew into more than five-thousand customers. Some of my closest friendships were made through the store. I miss the opportunity to connect with all people who came to my store, whether it was to buy something or even just catch up on life events. I started that business with no funding, just support from my husband and family. Being a shop owner allowed me to feel true freedom. I am excited to continue life's journey as an entrepreneur and expand my (newest) business.
