Chandana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her clothing business by selling more saris, garments etc.

Chandana's story

Thirty-two-year-old Chandana is a resident of North 24 Parganas district, West Bengal. She runs a small-scale clothing business. She lives with her husband and two children (a son and a daughter). Her husband is a driver by occupation. With the sole income of her husband, it is very difficult to bear all household costs and pay the educational fees of their two children.

Thus, Chandana started a clothing business to share the financial burden of her husband. She buys a variety of saris and other garments from the wholesale market and sells them in the neighborhood as well as to the villagers. Now she has attained a good number of customers.

Now, Chandana wants to develop this business to attract more customers for the upcoming festive and marriage season. But she does not have sufficient capital to buy the stocks of clothing.

Thus, Chandana seeks a loan of INR 40,000 from BJS (Milaap’s partner) to buy stocks of saris and other garments in bulk for her business. She hopes that during the upcoming festive season, her income will go up with the help of this loan and she will be able to save money for her children's continuous education. Chandana conveys her gratitude and thanks her lenders.
