One week to celebrate one billion: here's to the Kiva community!

To celebrate our massive milestone of lending $1 billion to women, we had an amazing week-long celebration! With plenty of lending credits, borrower stories, and shared generosity, the Kiva community had so much fun interacting with each other and seeing just how strong we could be together.

Last week alone, the Kiva community came together to fund over $4 million in loans to women around the globe. That’s almost 10,000 more women who can now finance their dreams.



Lenders like you continue to prove that fueling her future means fueling our future. Investing in women is one of the strongest levers we can use to advance global development for everyone. This celebration was about more than just $1 billion in loans to women; it’s about the impact we can make together when we uplift women around the world. Because when we uplift women, we uplift entire communities. At Kiva, that passion was more visible than ever last week. There were millions in loans and thousands of women supported, and we just couldn't be ignored! Even Forbes wrote about our lenders and this phenomenal achievement.

Congratulations to the Kiva community. You've demonstrated three things we've known all along: women are powerful, microfinance is the future, and we can make anything happen together.
