Silvija Martincevic joined Deputy as CEO and member of the Board of Directors in early 2023. Deputy is a global leader in smart scheduling and workforce management for shift workers and businesses and envisions thriving workplaces in every community. Silvija has a longstanding passion for delivering economic empowerment to underserved communities. This passion was ignited based on her own experience growing up in Croatia during a communist era and immigrating to the U.S. at the age of 17 after the Balkan wars. “I fell in love with Kiva’s mission while at Groupon after seeing the power of this global marketplace to engage employees and enable lenders to fund the dreams of borrowers. I am thrilled to bring my own passion and experience investing for social impact and growing global marketplaces to Kiva and help this amazing organization scale economic access and empowerment in communities around the world.” Silvija served as the Chief Commercial Officer of Affirm–the technology company that offers a more transparent form of credit and has a mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives. Before Affirm, Silvija was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer of Groupon's International business, where she first experienced Kiva through a corporate social responsibility and employee engagement partnership. Before her experience in consumer technology companies, Silvija spent a decade in the investment management industry, where she focused on socially-responsible, female, and minority-owned funds. Silvija earned her B.A. in Economics at Beloit College and an M.B.A. in Econometrics and Statistics from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. Silvija has been a board member since 2021.
