A few years ago, Imelda's daughter Jamilet, now 4 years old, was playing in the kitchen with fire when unexpectedly the fire exploded severely burning Jamilet. She has limited movement of her left arm and cannot raise it more than half way. Imelda is a single mother who supports her eight children by selling candies and gum. This loan will help her pay for corrective surgery for her daughter to allow her normal function, vastly improving her quality of life and future opportunities. It is anticipated that a single surgery will completely restore her arm movement.
