Kiva Events

There's no better way to connect with other members of the Kiva community than by hosting or attending a Kiva event. Connecting face-to-face is a powerful way for lenders and lending teams to engage and help grow Kiva's reach.

Want to attend a Kiva event? Explore our Meetup Community.

Interested in hosting your own Kiva event? Read on!

You don't have to be an experienced event planner to host a successful event. We've got a ton of ideas to share, and all the resources you need to help you create a successful event - large or small.

Whether you're interested in gathering a small group of friends or hosting a larger community event that's open to all, we're here to help you as you plan. Below are some ideas to get you started - or better yet, combine a few of these suggestions and create something uniquely your own!

Potluck or Dinner Party Bring friends together, share your favorite dishes, and introduce them to Kiva. And if the weather's nice, think about turning it into a picnic.
Book Club Love to read? Encourage your friends to read a book on microfinance and then gather together to share your learnings! A few suggestions can be found here.
Microfinance and Microbrews Gather a group together at your favorite local pub to talk about microfinance over a pint of great craft beer.
Kiva Education Who doesn't want to continue their education? Host an "Intro to Kiva" class as a way to introduce people to the topics of Kiva and microfinance.
Social Mixer Lending on Kiva is always more fun with friends. Arrange a meet-up with members of your lending team and chat about your love of Kiva over snacks and drinks.
Kiva Speaking Event Looking for something more "official"? Host an event with a Kiva speaker! (please contact the Kiva Speakers Program to arrange a Kiva speaker at your event)
