Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

We support small business growth and development within the Rhode Island Avenue NE Main Street corridor in Washington DC. Access to capital is a significant need for small business owners, and we hope to create additional opportunities for access to these needed funds.

What is the mission of your organization?

Friends of Rhode Island Avenue NE/Rhode Island Avenue NE Main Street is dedicated to promoting, developing, and enhancing Rhode Island Avenue NE as a culturally, socially, and economically vibrant community in Washington D.C.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

We will endorse qualified borrowers operating their business within the borders of the Rhode Island Avenue NE Main Street program (Rhode Island Ave NE, between 4th St NE and Eastern Avenue, and 1 block in each direction off of Rhode Island Ave NE where there are commercial properties). Borrowers must show proof of a business plan for the use and repayment of funds, as well as evidence of the impact that the loan will have on the positive growth of their business.
