Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

We are interested in becoming a Kiva Zip Trustee to support and encourage low-income creative entrepreneurs in Minnesota to start or build their arts-based businesses and to help community members find and connect to these entrepreneurs. Springboard is uniquely positioned to help build the capacity of artist business owners and to support them through the loan process.

What is the mission of your organization?

Springboard for the Arts mission is to cultivate a vibrant community by connecting artists with the resources they need to make a living and a life.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

Springboard will endorse borrowers based on their participation in our business skills workshops and one-on-one coaching and consultation. We will support borrowers in determining their readiness for a Kiva loan and help them to develop a viable and appropriate business plan. In addition to serving as a Kiva Trustee, Springboard provides other avenues for business development, support and incubation so we are well positioned to help creative entrepreneurs find the right models and tools to support their goals.
