Why are you interested in becoming a Trustee?

The Southwest Initiative Foundation is a single connection offering unlimited possibilities to grow and promote people, businesses, entrepreneurs and communities in rural southwest Minnesota. We believe that being a Trustee will be a great way for us to continue to build community and create entrepreneurship opportunities in our rural communities.

Our mission is to be a catalyst, facilitating opportunities for economic and social growth by developing and challenging leaders to build on the region’s assets.

Borrower Due Diligence

How will you decide who to endorse as a borrower? What due diligence will you conduct?

Each of our loan clients must complete the following criteria: 1. Feasible business plan 2. Client posesses the technical and leadership skills required to manage the day to day operations 3. Client has the capacity to pay back the loan 4. There is a strong community need for this business or service 5. The person is of good Character 6. Local reference checks 7. Local letters of support
