We loan because...
As a counselor, I’ve always encouraged my clients to document their progress over time. Whether I’m dealing with a case of rehabilitation counseling, or a teenager with anxiety related issues, I’ve consistently found that keeping track of one’s thoughts and ideations in a structured manner can drastically decrease the time taken for recovery.

In recent years, I’ve found that the same thing holds true for my own growth and development as a therapist, husband and father. Documenting my thoughts and articulating my views on a subject is an incredible way to move forward in my understanding of the ‘bigger picture’.

Unfortunately, it took me a while to ‘get a hang of’ online blogging platforms. I’m not the most tech-savvy person in the world, but over the past year, I’ve found myself increasingly enjoying blogging — first in a private Facebook group for family and friends, and now, it seems, on this site.

This won’t be a blog about my views as a professional, so consider them just the idle musings and ‘thinking out loud’ of someone who has had a career working with people, and now likes to observe the rapid pace of change and throw in a footnote here and there.

Because this is such a self-indulgent blog, in a way, I doubt there will be a “central topic” I’m going to hold myself to. More likely, I’ll touch on areas of psychology, self help and social life that hold my interest at the moment.
I’m glad to be here, and the prospect of writing on this platform is exciting to me.
