We loan because...
My dad joined the "computer age" a little late in the game, but when he did, he was fascinated be the possibilities it opened up - especially in the world of finance and investment. After he passed away all too sudden and early in 2012, I also discovered charitable giving side of him, I had previously not known. With his birthday approaching, I felt the urge to "give" something in his name, but nothing seemed appropriate. While he never got to experience micro-lending, I believe, the combination of technology, finance and helping people getting something started, would have gotten him quite excited, and I can picture him spending hours on Kiva, researching "worthy" loans.

We loan in my father's name in order to help entrepreneurs help themselves, and to carry on his legacy in spirit. Each team member is free to choose their own loans without restrictions, but as they do, we ask them to take a moment to commemoration my dad.

Thank you.
