About me:
UNLEASHED is a pending 501(c)(3) non profit organization that focuses on job creation platforms for talented female craft artisans in marginalized areas around the world. We shine a spotlight on their talents through media attention in our content series. We bring more awareness to their skills and create jobs, in turn breaking the poverty cycle. Craft communities and artisans make up 4.6% of the global GDP. This is BIG BUSINESS done on a small scale throughout some of the most impoverished and underserved parts of the world. We will provide a Microfinance loan to help capital intensive initiatives through KIVA. Our flourishing content series will be created by traveling globally and shining a spotlight on female craft artisan collectives to help them reach financial independence and self reliance, by building on their existing strengths and resiliences within their unique cultural contexts, alongside award winning directors and producers. UNLEASHED is partnering with Artemis Rising; renown documentary film maker Regina K Scully and award winning Director Amy Berg to film a documentary series about global female craft artisans, focusing on their work, talents and contributions to their communities. The series will highlight select narrative threads that are universal, particularly to women everywhere. Our focus is on artisan women globally that are too often overlooked, in areas where talent exists but opportunity does not. Inspired by Anthony Bourdian “Parts Unknown”, we will also be capturing the geo-political situation of the region and how it effects women within the current landscape. Our 2017 episode focuses on India through the lens of an artisan collective in Bareilly (5 hours east of Delhi). We will create dramatic programming by juxtaposing these two completely different worlds. By welcoming viewers into the world of women in both communities, we will bring to life universal truths and pathways to independence, including the importance of education and decent work + fare wages.
