I dig crowdfunding & microfinance. It's a powerful model - not entirely unlike charity, but with an obligation attached.. the responsibility to repay that which was provided is significant to sense of self worth. Lenders deem borrowers worthy of receiving, and borrowers deem themselves capable of repaying. Hopefully, we keep that momentum going & pay it foward again & again! It's like a good-will engine.
