I loan because:
We are part of a church and in our Sunday morning church services and our Wednesday evening shelter chapel program, we have been discussing the different ways God has loved us and the different ways we can love God back. We recently discussed how we can love God through gifts. We believe that we have been loved and blessed by God and that we can love God back by passing on blessings to others out of what God has given us. As a shelter community we decided to love God, and others, through the gift of a Kiva loan. Our community became really excited about lending and almost immediately, our goal of one loan was surpassed! We are now working toward multiple loans and we plan to continue lending as God continues to bless us.

Southridge homeless shelter is a unique community of residents, former residents, volunteers, and staff who are pursuing positive life change through the power of relationship. We are a place where everyone's unique beauty is celebrated and people are given the hope and strength needed to move forward in realizing God's vision for their lives.
