I loan because:
I truly believe in the free market system and want to assist small business owners around the world. After reading Muhammad Yunus' book "Banker to the Poor", I wanted to find out for myself how the concept of microfinance works. I am excited that several MFIs from the Philippines are currently partnered with Kiva. As a result, the majority of my new loans will focus on that area. I will continue to diversify my lending portfolio with short-term loans from other parts of the world.
