Three years ago I met the MD of the World Bank and asked him what he thought the worlds greatest struggle will be when I am his age. This is what he said "Addressing poverty in socially and politically disempowered countries is a huge issue. 1.4 billion have < $1.20 a day and 2.5 billion have < $2 a day. There is something called 'The challenge of Sub-Saharan Africa'. Fifty-four percent of their population is under the age of 20 – in 40 years they will be the biggest labour force in the world. Today, 23 out of 37 fragile states in the world are in Sub-Saharan Africa" I loan because I want the term "fragile states" to be non-existent by the time I'm his age.
