We are raising money within our own community to promote small scale agriculture that feeds people safe, healthy and fair food grown close to their homes. Kiva is an opportunity to share some of the privilege and fortune we have here in this part of North America with others across the globe.
About me:
I am a community organizer in the local foods movement in SE Michigan. My main focus is to find and promote opportunities for young people who wish to grow good food. A micro-credit system to buy and build hoop-houses, for growing four-season in our climate is our present model. We hope to build many more financial systems and move to 10% local sourcing of our food supply and to share this opportunity with other communities.
