There are many talented, capable, clever, resilient people all over the world that don’t get a chance to access the tremendous “machine” that constitutes the debt industry... A new way is arising... About me:
One of the main reasons I’ve joined KIVA is because I believe that the world can only change this way – from the bottom to the top – grassroots! Wanting to be a part of ”the change I want to see in the world”; part of the solution ~ and institutions like KIVA and other P2P initiatives represent a good way to do just that. I’m happy to be a part of this movement that I believe represents the future of banking in a few generations’ time. Books like Charles Eisenstein’s “Sacred Economics” (http://sacred-economics.com/) show how easy and feasible it would be to change the world in a very short time… Worth a read! The other reason why I feel KIVA is a wonderful platform to change the world from is the ability to communicate directly with borrowers and field partners - and thus share relevant information pertaining to the areas of activity we invest in. Again, in the case of AGRICULTURE and SEEDS (the most precious patrimony of humanity) I feel compelled to share some information that I feel is crucial to the future of the most important job on earth: FARMING, i.e. soil and seed preservation.
