About me:
The Invisible Disabilities Comedy Show is a stand up comedy show based in Sacramento, CA. The mission of the show is to give comedians an opportunity to talk about their invisible and visible disabilities and make jokes about their struggles. The show has bonded comedians and audience members alike with their shared experiences with a variety of disabilities, and has even inspired some audience members to become comedians themselves. Producers Aliada and Drew Kimzey started the show at Luna's Cafe in Sacramento, but the success of the show soon demanded that they move to a larger venue in order to accommodate their growing number of audience members. They still hold the Invisible Disabilities open mic at Luna's on the second Wednesday of every month. The invisible Disabilities Comedy Show has given a voice to disabled members of the community who had never seen their disability-related struggles discussed at a comedy show, and shown them that their experiences are more relatable than they thought. The show has been held at several venues in Sacramento, and will soon make its debut at the world-famous Punch Line Comedy Club in San Francisco. It features American Sign Language interpreting by Signs of Pride.
