Rosa Imelda's story

Mrs. Rosa Imelda belongs to the Community Bank “Manos Unidas” and lives in the Morales district of the Department of San Martin. She is single, 48 years old and is mother to 2 children, 1 of whom is still a dependent. She set out with 700 Peruvian soles using her own initiative. She has been working with the Community Bank for 5 years. Now she sells cosmetics which she offers to her customers, colleagues and friends. With this loan of 3,000 soles, which will be repaid within 6 months, she will buy fashionable clothes of all sizes and designs to add to the cosmetics business which is based in her own home. She will be able to offer variety to her customers all under one roof. Rosa Imelda believes that the Community Bank is an excellent opportunity for women who wish to work and make a future for themselves.
