Mercedes Elena's story

Mercedes makes and sells rellenos, (a popular bolivian snack made with meat and mashed potatoes) from a small snack stand located near the 10 de enero market in the populated region of Pampahasi. She has worked there for the past 5 years. She worked for an institution in February but has returned and lives in her own home with her father. She is a well-known person in the area. She will invest the loan money in supplies to make the rellenos, a food that is typically served in the morning. The ingredients that she needs are: flour, potatoes, bananas, meat and vegetables. All of this is accompanied by different types of vegetable salads.
