A loan of $450 helped to procure a variety of jewelry in bulk to increase her stock.

Sarah's story

Sarah K. is fifty years old. She is married with seven children. Currently, only the last-born is in the junior-high school. The rest have all completed the senior-high school and have been working for a while. Sarah lives with her children and husband in a family house in a fishing-dominated community called Aquase, near Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana.

Sarah works to support her husband financially. She is a trader and trades in jewelry. She procures jewelry such as earrings, necklaces, wristwatches, etc. from Cape Coast, the regional capital. Sarah says she hawks to houses to sell her goods in her community. She also treks to other markets to sell on their market days.

Sarah has been in business for eight years and wants a loan to procure a variety of jewelry in bulk to increase her stock. She is hoping to help her husband sponsor their children to further education.
