A loan of $1,025 helped purchase of corn and an electric grinder.

Jenny Grisel's story

Mrs. Jenny Grisel S. A. and her husband Erick Guzman Gonzales have a young son whom they work to support. They live in their home at 1534 Angel Sandoval street, in the Calama neighborhood of the city of El Alto.

Jenny sells humintas and anticuchos. A huminta is a traditional empanada from the western part of Bolivia and is made with corn and cheese. Anticuchos are skewers with cow's heart, potato and peanuts. Jenny goes out to sell her products every day. She used to make the humintas by hand, grinding them with the force of a wooden mallet, but now she has purchased an electric mill to grind them.

The greatest hope of Jenny and Erick is to be able to give their child a good education so that he will grow up to be a good and responsible person.
