Irma's story

Irma is 45 years old and is a mother concerned for the well-being of her children. She lives in a house she acquired through much sacrifice and that she takes great care of, as she knows that some day she will leave it to her children. For Irma, the sale of alcohol is a very profitable business. Her stand is located in the Tupac Amaru market (an important market in Juliaca) and because of high traffic she always sells a lot. She is a very cheerful person and always makes her sales with a hugh smile. She has been in business for 20 years and what is the most difficult is purchasing the alcohol as there are many falsified products and you have to know how to tell the difference. In the future Irma would like to have a larger store where she can sell many goods and not just limit it to alcohol. What she likes most it talking with her customers, because them she finds out from them what is happening while she is at work. This is her second loan with MPF. She was very punctual repaying her first loan and hopes to be punctual now as well. At her communal bank she is very happy and always giving advice to the other members. With the 2,000 soles requested she will stock her store, buy more products and offer a better variety to her customers.
