Vida's story

Vida M. is 45 years old, married and the mother of three children. Currently two are in school, and the eldest is a taxi driver. She lives in Eguase in the central region of Ghana. Vida is very hardworking and dedicated to the upbringing of her children. She sells sweet potatoes and maize. And it is this business that has supported her family.

Vida distributes the food stuffs to her customers on a credit basis. She takes delivery of stock from the surrounding farming communities and has been in this business for two years now. She needs a loan to buy more sweet potatoes and bags of maize so that she can meet the demands of her customers. She would be grateful for your assistance. Vida belongs to a group called ‘Won som’ which means 'let all help'. She also hopes to receive the loan to progress her business by restocking her inventory. This would enable her to save more to support her husband in taking care of the children's educational needs.
