A loan helped to buy food products for the preparation of fritanga.

Juanita Jorleny's story

Juanita is a single mother with three underage children from Sauce, located to the north of the region. She is hardworking, responsible and determined to succeed. In her free time she enjoys the company of her children.

Unfortunately she was not able to study due to a lack of financial resources and had to work in order to help out with household expenses. She fights every day to provide a better future and to fulfill her dreams and goals.

Thanks to a will to succeed she works selling fritanga (homemade food) as a street vendor, with the help of a small cart. She usually works about twelve hours a day, preparing and selling food: tacos, bananas, rice and beans, fried plantains, crepes, enchiladas, refreshments, etc.

The purpose of the loan is to invest in food products for the preparation of fritanga, to increase her clientele and to obtain better profits in the near future.

Juanita is grateful for the help Kiva investors provide to people of limited resources and from poor countries, like Nicaragua, in achieving dignified means of employment.
