A loan helped to invest in maintaining a hectare of silva rice.

Jose's story

41-year-old José is in a civil partnership and lives in his own home made of rustic materials together with his partner and his four children in Copallin district, Bagua province, Amazonas department, in the country of Peru. He has very good personal and professional references from some of the area's residents. The majority of this town's inhabitants earn a living in agriculture, commerce, and livestock.

He earns a living in agriculture, specifically cultivating and producing rice. To date, he has two hectares: one hectare of silva variety (transplanted at two months) and one hectare of esperanza variety (through transplantation) which is resistant to sickness and plagues. He has 20 years of experience in this line of work. Additionally, he earns a living selling small animals.

The loan's destiny will be to invest in maintaining one hectare of Silva variety rice, which is in its cultivation phase, assuring good production for the 2016 season. This will be reflected in a greater volume of sales, and consequently, he will obtain better income and thus be able to improve his and his family's quality of life.

José is a recurring member of Edpyme Alternativa. He is signing with his partner.
