A loan of $225 helped purchase stock for her store.

Anelida Renee's story

Anelida Renee C. L. is 36 years old and lives in the village of Milán, in Otuzco province, La Libertad department, Peru.
She finished several years of school but had leave her studies when her parents no longer had the economic means to support her. She has two children who depend on her economically, since her husband died in an accident.
Anelida has a shop that she opened in Otuzco, where she lived with her husband. They sold soft drinks and later groceries. When her husband died she decided to return to Cruz de Pargo and establish a shop where she sells groceries and beers. She runs the business from her home.
She used the first loan of 300 soles that she received from her banco comunal, “Luchando por el Progreso,” to purchase groceries to stock her shop.
She will use this loan of 700 soles, which she will repay in 4 months, to buy groceries and beer to increase her capital.
Anelida dreams of buying her own home and owning a clothing store.
