A loan of $300 helped to purchase merchandise.

Maria Del Carmen's story

Maria del Carmen began her business due to her necessity to settle some personal expenses because when she divorced she was left with some pending debt to liquidate. She began the business approximately 5 years ago selling fried goods and tostadas (a fried corn tortilla dish). Later, when she had earned some profits, she decided to begin a business selling perfumes and jewelry through catalogs.

In the beginning, few believed in her given that she had little experience, and she was not able to close deals well, but that didn’t discourage her, on the contrary, it gave her the strength to overcome any adversities that she might come across. Finally, she was able to become one of the best saleswomen in the area and has even won prizes from the company that she works for.

She now needs a loan of 4,000 MXN that she will pay in 10 installments to purchase merchandise because the spring season is nearing and her clients will be looking what is in style for the season. She would like to be able to offer them the products as quickly as possible and in that way not loose any clients.
