A loan of $975 helped purchase fertilizers.

Georgina's story

Georgina is 52 years old, has been married for 21 years, and has seven children who live at home with her. She and her husband work as laborers in their relatives' fields, and they also plant three to four hectares of rented fields with potatoes and peas. In the last harvest, they sent 150 sacks of potatoes to the market in Lima and another 50 sacks to the market in Tarma, and with their earnings they were able to pay off their previous loan, which they spent on pesticides. Now they hope to invest the same amount for their current planting. Georgina was the president of her communal bank a year ago, and this time is helping her daughter in the office of treasurer, as they are in the same group. This is her eighth loan with MFP, and she has been very responsible in her payments. She is seeking this loan for the purchase of fertilizers for her new crop.
