A loan helped a member to purchase two sheep.

Fatou's Group's story

This group of 20 members is part of the 'banc villageois' that was created in February 2014. It is composed of women from the same village and nearby. They relate well to one another and are mainly active in commerce and in livestock farming. The group meetings are conducted in a nice ambiance.

Astou, standing at the left in the photo with her right hand raised, is the featured borrower. She is 42 years old and the married mother of two girls and a boy. She is active in the fattening of livestock.

With this loan, she is going to purchase two sheep at 30,000 francs CFA each. She raises and then resells them at 50,000 or even 60,000 francs. She is buying feed with the rest of the loan.

With the profits, she will save some money and take care of her family.
