A loan of $500 helped to purchase fertilizers.

Nazario's story

Nazario is about to turn 30, he is single, and still lives in his mother's house along with his sister. His other siblings all left for Lima to look for a better future, and have proposed that he go with them, but he prefers to stay and work the land, as he refers to agriculture, since he really likes this activity. Many years ago he only farmed small plots of land (watered by the rain), and his harvests were in the months of April and May. But he wanted a change from renting land and changed all the seeds according to the type of land. More than three years have passed and he is finally seeing the fruit of his labor. Now his crops are harvested two or three times a year, and he believes he has learned the techniques to become a great farmer. His upcoming goals are to farm on the coast, since he has a large quantity of seeds especially for that climate. In this way he will increase his production which will increase his earnings and make his work a very profitable activity. Last year Nazario was the president of his community bank, and he completed all his tasks very well. This is his eighth loan with MFP and in all this time he has shown responsibility in his payments. The money he is asking for is for buying chemical fertilizers for planting his new coastal crops.
