A loan of $375 helped to buy thread for making thread-chains.

Kishwar Sultana's story

My name is Kishwar sultana and I am a married woman and the mother of four daughters. I have been a citizen of Lahore, Pakistan for the past 35 years. I completed my education up to the 5th standard but couldn’t read more because my parents couldn’t afford my education expenses. I married a man whose name is M. A. and he has a government job and works as a security guard on monthly wage.

I manufacture thread-chain which I sell to the goldsmiths and they use it to tie up the jewelry. My daughters help me in the making of thread-chains. I’ve successfully repaid my five loans from Asasah (a microfinance institute of Pakistan). Now I am applying again for a loan to buy more thread to expand my thread-chain making business.
