A loan of $450 helped buy cows.

Ni Luh Deli's story

It has already been a year since Deli experienced good gains, since receiving loan from Dinari/Kiva. From 2 pairs of cows being raised, would result in bearing calves, one was born. This calf will be reared for several months after which will be sold in order to buy feed and for gains from selling this calf. Apparently, revenue from this effort will lighten Deli’s burden substantially. Apart from paying for the daily needs, it also assists her husband to support the child’s education, although it is only little. As Deli’s husband is just a farmer. For this second loan, Deli is even more enthusiastic in this effort. Deli’s wish, for this second loan, her cow will be healthy and reproduce. And the mother cow will always be reared to reproduce many more calves, thus this venture will develop to be more successful. Even though this will require more effort to collect grass to feed the cows being reared. Her spirits is high until not noticing the time Deli usually searches the surrounding for food to feed the cows. Sometimes the cows will be herded to seek grass themselves. For the future, Deli wants the funding to increase to sufficiently to purchase a pair of mother cows so that her venture will be more successful.
