A loan of $500 helped purchase of products for his store, as well as fertilizer for his crops.

Guillermo's story

Guillermo is 59 years old, married, and has three children who all work in other places. He lives in his house with his wife. He is a multifaceted man who is skilled in a variety of jobs. He works the land in small plots and buys and sells used cars, which is sometimes profitable. He also has a store, which doesn't earn him much, but with his earnings he manages to cover the cost of his daily food and has installed a public telephone which has increased traffic there. He also transports crops for the local farmers to the city in a car he managed to buy a while back. All of these activities have allowed him to pay for his children's education who are now professionals, and they visit him every now and again. Guillermo is happy with all the jobs that he does, and says he has adapted and nothing is too hard for him and as long as he's making money, he'll keep on doing the same thing.

Guillermo is one of the founding members of his community bank and for four years has been the President, and is always elected because he is a good leader, which he demonstrates in his capacity as President and with his punctual loan payments. The money he is requesting is to increase the stock in his store and buy fertilizers to fertilize his crops.
