Esi M. is married and has 1 child. She has received schooling through junior high. Esi sells cookies and soft drinks; she has also been a baker at Kisi near Elmina since 2000. Her husband is a Taxi driver. Esi uses her income to assist her husband in paying the housekeeping expenses. Esi will use the loan as additional capital to enable her to increase the production and sale of cookies by buying more ingredients (like flour and margarine) to meet the increase in demand by her customers. With the new profits from her expanded business, Esi plans to save towards a house she wants to put up with her husband.
