A loan of $950 helped purchase merchandise and make improvements to her stall.

Susana's story

Susana is 45 and lives in her own home with her husband Tomas and her 15-year-old daughter Roxana, who helps with her business. For nine years, Susana has sold fruit in the Pachacutec Market, located near her home, and her business is her primary source of income. Roxana minds the fruit stall while her mother goes to buy more merchandise or is called away for an unexpected problem.

Susana really likes her work, as she enjoys interacting with people and she has made many good friends among her neighbors in the market. Also, the effort she puts forth and the joy she takes in her work have resulted in more sales and therefore good earnings. But, like all small businesspeople, she would like to expand her business and be much more prosperous, and for this she would like to put a new roof over her stall.

Susana has worked with Microfinanzas Prisma for about three years, and has been punctual and responsible with her repayments. She now has an individual loan, but first she was part of a community bank, which made her very happy as she made many responsible friends.

She will invest this loan in the purchase of more merchandise and in making improvements to her stall to provide better service to her customers. Susana is very happy and hopes to continue moving forward with her business.
