Patience's story

Patience D. is 34 years old. She is married and the mother of five children. She says with the help of God, all her children attend school. She owns and operates a grocery store and sells items like sugar, vegetable oil, bottled water, skimmed powdered milk, and biscuits, and baby products like napkins, feeding bottles, etc. in her neighborhood. She lives in Dome in the Ashanti region of Ghana. With her nine years of experience and through this business Patience has supported the family. Fortunately, her business is positioned at a strategic location within the town where she lives. With the loan, she wants to purchase more crates of assorted drinks, bags of sugar, cartons of vegetable oil, boxes of biscuits, etc. to increase her inventory. She hopes to improve her savings to support her children in school. Patience belongs to a village bank called ‘Sunkwa,’ which means ‘Pray for Life’. She hopes to receive 900 GHS to improve her business.
