Rubén is a member of the Communal Bank of Rosas del Valle. He is 34 years old and lives with his partner and three children aged 12, 6, and 3. The older children study in public school. For 11 years his wife worked selling lingerie in the shop of a family member. She saw that it was profitable and together they decided to rent their own shop to sell lingerie.
Rubén needs a loan of 3000 soles (about $950 US) to buy bras, girdles, and stockings. Since he has been in Finca, the conversations he has had have helped him, and now he takes notes of all income and expenses, learning accounting for his business, and he has bought a new stall in the market. Rubén's dream is to buy the stall that he has been renting for years.
