A loan of $250 helped buy supplies for bakery business.

Ogla's story

Ogla started the business because she needed an extra income that would allow her to help her husband with household expenses and their children's schooling. Up to then, she had worked solely on raising their children even though there wasn't enough income to cover all of the family's expenses.

She started the business in August 2001, studying pastry-making at IMSS and learning how to make cookies and fine pastries. She then started selling them to neighbors and friends and her business has been growing steadily since then. She's become an expert pastry chef and, at the same time, has learned new recipes which have helped her to provide a variety of breads to her customers. She now has a space in her house for the business.

She needs a MXN$3,500 loan, to be repaid in 8 14-day installments, to buy basic supplies for the business.
